About Mason's

Founded by Miles Mason, 'chinaman' extraordinary! Born at West House, near Dent, North Yorkshire in 1752. Miles originally reproduced Chinese porcelains to match damaged parts of old Chinese (export-marked) services. This led to experiments to produce commercially viable porcelain in the Chinese style, leading to the highly successful Ironstone China. The oriental influence continues today with the Mandalay and Chartreuse patterns.
